22 Weeks

22 Weeks

How far along?22 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Last time I weighed myself it was the same as my prepregnancy, but I haven't weighed myself for a week or so.
Maternity clothes? Breaking out the belly bands more. I need to get some pants but I'm fairly picky about what I want and I haven't been able to find them yet.
Stretch marks? Maybe a few new ones.
Sleep: Not great. I've had a cold and felt pretty crappy, and for some reason my body thinks 3 am is time to wake up.
Best moment this week: Going on vacation up to Midway and finding out that I get 12 weeks of paid maternity leave
Miss anything? Being able to comfortably take medications when I'm sick.
Movement: Some harder kicks this week. She's definitely got a personality going in there.
Food cravings: Still just want Zupas.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just the idea of Olive Garden.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely. My coworkers finally know, so that's fun.
Gender: Girl. I'm feeling a little unsure about whether or not it is, so I'm excited to have it confirmed this week.
Labor signs: Nothing. Thankfully. I'm really hoping to go really close to my due date. I know I'm crazy but I just really don't want to go earlier.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On, but starting to get a lot tighter.
Happy or moody most of the time: happy, but I get a little short tempered occasionally, especially when I'm tired.
Looking forward to: We are going to fetal fotos this week to get some 3D ultrasounds and reconfirm that the baby really is a girl since they had a hard time telling at the anatomy ultrasound. Thanks curled up baby and cord all in the way....

22 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Papaya
  • Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
  • He's sleeping in cycles — about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).
During month five, the average fetus measures about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces

How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:Still at my prepregnancy weight
Maternity clothes? Not yet but I really need to start getting some
Stretch marks? Not any new ones that I'm aware
Sleep: A few times this week my body has decided that 3 am is time to wake up, and then refuses to go back to sleep for a few hours. It kills me a little bit. It's hard to be so tired all the time.
Best moment this week: Tie between our anatomy ultrasound and seeing how adorable our little baby was and finding out that everything is developing normally, and having our gender reveal party and finding out what we are having.
Miss anything? Nothing really so far
Movement: Less this week which made me a little nervous, but then I found out at our ultrasound that I have an anterior placenta, so I may not feel her as much. She was also facing my back during the ultrasound so I just might not be feeling it as much
Food cravings: Zupas
Anything making you queasy or sick: the thought of eating Olive Garden. Not even anything specific there, just the restaurant in general
Have you started to show yet: Definitely starting to.
Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!
Labor signs: Nothing, no cramps or braxton hicks or anything
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Getting happier all the time
Looking forward to: Having a week off and going on vacation with my family.

21 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Pomegranate
  • As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she's manufacturing meconium — the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!
  • If it's a girl, she's already got a lifetime's supply of eggs in her womb — about six million of them!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, she's big enough now that you've probably been feeling her movements.

Gender Reveal

We had a gender reveal party with all our family this week. I didn't know the gender beforehand. Colton looked to make sure the cake was made right, but it was really fun. I had been sure it was a girl but then right before the party changed my mind and guessed that it was a boy. I wasn't in the minority though. We had lots of guesses for a boy.

I must say though. The gender myths or old wives tales that I looked at really weren't very helpful.

AND.................................

Baby Savage #2 will be.......................

So excited to meet our little girl!!!

Her name will be....

Baby girl Claire Savage (haha, we still haven't decided on a first name yet but her middle name will be Claire.)

20 Weeks!!! HALFWAY BAKED!!!

20 Weeks

How far along? 20 Weeks!!!
Total weight gain/loss: Still at my pre-pregnancy weight.
Maternity clothes? Thinking about it more and more. Only having one pair of pants that I can comfortably wear is really starting to not work anymore.
Stretch marks? A few new ones
Sleep: Elli wasn't sleeping very good this week, which of course means I didn't sleep very good. Made me kinda cranky all week because I'm so tired.
Best moment this week: Having a few days off work and getting the nursery a little more picked up so it's more ready for us to get it set up.
Miss anything? Again, being able to lift heavy things. I want to get our house more set up when I'm off but can't because things are too heavy.
Movement:Less this week still. I don't like that it makes me so nervous. I really need to get our ultrasound on Friday to make sure things are all still good.
Food cravings: I still want Zupas, but not really strongly.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just thinking about eating Olive Garden
Have you started to show yet: More for sure. I can't believe though that I am already half way there!
Gender: THIS WEEK!!!! We find out on October 1st at our gender reveal party!! I'm still leaning towards girl this week.
Labor signs: Nothing. Honestly sometimes I forget a little bit that I am pregnant.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off?Still on. I'm waiting for it to not fit thought. This was close to the time I stopped being able to wear it with Elli.
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly Happy, just moody when I get extra tired. I was a little more moody this week because Colton had to leave again after two weeks here.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender this weekend!! I really really need to know and be able to name this baby already.

20 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Banana
  • She's got working taste buds.
  • Now, she's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day — that's significantly more than before.
Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches. She's still got a lot of growing to do though. Can you believe you're halfway done?

19 Weeks

19 Weeks

How far along?19 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Finally weighed myself this week and I'm still at my pre-pregnancy weight.
Maternity clothes? A few, nothing really impressive. I can still survive with a few pairs of pants.
Stretch marks? Not anything new.
Sleep: Better this week, except for waking up melting every night around three am, no matter how cold it is in my house. I could do without that.
Best moment this week: Colton being home and getting to spend time with him more and get some projects done around our house. Listening to the doppler at our house and seeing how excited it made Elli.
Miss anything?Being allowed to mow the lawn and dump the bag, being able to lift things that are heavy since I can't pick up parts of the house without being able to do that.
Movement:I've actually been feeling quite a bit less this week and it's been a little bit nerve-wracking for me.
Food cravings: Nothing this week
Anything making you queasy or sick: The idea of eating Olive Garden just makes my stomach do flips.
Have you started to show yet: I feel like I am showing more and more but still not feeling like I look majorly pregnant and not just chubby. Most people at work still don't know yet that I'm even pregnant.
Gender: NEXT WEEK!!!! This week I'm pretty sure its a girl!
Labor signs: Nothing yet. Hopefully a good solid 20 weeks before that.
Bell button in or out? In, always in. I really should take this question out because I don't think it will ever change.
Wedding rings on or off? On, just getting a little tighter when I'm hot.
Happy or moody most of the time: Generally happy but I am a little more short tempered than I usually am.
Looking forward to: Our gender reveal party is next Saturday!!! I can't wait to find out what the baby is!

19 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Mango
  • Developing a protective coating over her skin, called vernix caseosa. It's greasy and white and you may see some of it at her birth.
  • Working on her five senses. Nerve cells for her sense of taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in her brain.
At about 6.0 inches long and weighing in at about 8.5 ounces, she's getting there!

18 weeks

How far along? 18 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Unsure. I haven't measured in awhile
Maternity clothes? Still not wearing any. I'm really starting to get closer to needing to buy some, but it just isn't worth it right now.
Stretch marks? Not any that are new.
Sleep: I sleep okay, it's a little harder right now since Colton isn't home during the weeks and I sleep worse when I'm here by myself. I also wake up really hot every night so that makes it hard.
Best moment this week: having my next doctors appointment. Everything is looking great and baby had a strong super easy to find heartbeat of 154. Even though I have been feeling the baby move it still makes me so nervous every appointment so it was nice to have reassurance that everything is still going good.
Miss anything? I don't think there is anything really, I still do everything the same basically.
Movement: Lots and lots. I am seriously loving it. This week I have felt some actual real kicks, instead of just the rolly bubbly feelings. It's been the best. I seriously wonder if I had an anterior placenta with Elli or something because I already feel this baby more than I did with her until the very end of my pregnancy.
Food cravings: I still really want Zupas, but I don't really get strong cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing yet. I actually even ate eggs this week and was fine with them.
Have you started to show yet: I'm slowly starting to.
Gender: Two more weeks and we find out! I'm seriously dying to know!
Labor signs: Nothing yet.
Bell button in or out? IN
Wedding rings on or off? Still on, gets a little tight in the mornings or when I'm really warm, but still can wear it.
Happy or moody most of the time: I'm mostly happy. I get a little moody when I start to get really tired though.
Looking forward to: Having Colton in town for a few weeks, finding out the gender in a few weeks.

18 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Sweet Potato
  • Can you believe she's yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing?
  • And she's twisting, rolling, punching and kicking, too — and she's big enough that you might be able to feel her doing it!
She's about 5.6 inches long and about 6.7 ounces now and she keeps on growing rapidly. (That's why you're probably feeling so hungry.)
