31 Weeks, Just 9 to go!

31 Weeks!

How far along? 31 weeks, which has kind of freaked me out a little. I am starting to realize how soon this baby is coming and I'm not sure I'm ready. Being a parent to one is a struggle sometimes and it feels like it's been a million years since I had to take care of a little baby. Only 63 more days until my due date...And baby E could come earlier than that!!! I'm really hoping not. I really want this baby to stay in there until at least my due date, but I guess she could come at any time (after the next 6 weeks are over)
Total weight gain/loss: I honestly don't know this week. I didn't weight myself this time.
Maternity clothes? Eh, same old. I can still wear my work pants unless I sit for very long so it will be okay.
Stretch marks? It's weird but I swear my old ones are more faded looking than usual. I am probably just crazy.
Sleep: Terrible. I have started tossing and turning all night and not feeling very rested when I wake up. I've also started having a harder time falling back asleep when I wake up in the middle of the night.
Best moment this week: Colton officially being done with classes so he can be home with us finally. Also, we finally painted the walls of the nursery and I'm starting to get lots of ideas of what I want to do to decorate it. We also went and saw a harry potter movie with Sarah and that was really fun to get out and do something fun.
Miss anything? Sleep. Not getting dizzy, My back not hurting. Not being exhausted. Being able to bend over.
Movement: She's really active sometimes. Nothing really huge though. Sometimes it makes me a little sad that my kids don't have huge movements that I can record like a lot of women do.
Food cravings: Not really. I kinda want a good steak though.
Anything making you queasy or sick:Not eating, eating, I don't get very sick but just some. I am starting to get worse heartburn and that kind of makes me sick. It's nothing compared to when I had Elli though.
Have you started to show yet: Yep. I get confused though because I don't feel very big, but to me pictures of me look like I'm giant. I think she's a little lower than Elli was.
Gender: I definitely hope it's still a girl!
Labor signs: Nope. I am really really hoping and praying that I make it to my due date and don't have her early. Of course since I wish that not she's going to come at like 37 weeks or something.
Bell button in or out? In. Always and forever in I am hoping.
Wedding rings on or off? Off. This week my fingers are definitely more swollen than they were though.
Happy or moody most of the time: Overall happy. I definitely am more short tempered.
Looking forward to: we are officially moving out of our Salt lake apartment next week and I'm so excited to be done with that and all just be a family in our house. I'm also starting on a blanked for baby E and I'm excited to get more done on her nursery.

31 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Pineapple
  • He's going through major brain and nerve development.
  • Eye development, too. His irises now react to light!
  • All five of his senses are in working order.
He's about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds this month. He's getting so big, he's probably crowding your lungs.

30 Weeks, 3/4 of the way through!!

30 Weeks

How far along? 30 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Well, my scale at home said I lost 1 pound, and the doctor's scale said that I gained a pound, so I'm going with 0 gained or lost at this point.
Maternity clothes? Nah, I think I'm probably not going to get anymore but I'll just make what I have work.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: It's still okay. I still wake up at least once per night, sometimes twice, but overall I feel pretty good.
Best moment this week: Having my 30 week doctor's appointment and hearing that everything is still going great, strong kicks from this little one that Colton could feel pretty good.
Miss anything? I miss being able to bend over. Every time I do, even if it's just for a second I get super dizzy and start to see black spots. It's starting to get really frustrating.
Movement: starting to get lots in my ribs. My doctor didn't check if she was head down or not and says they don't worry about it for about a month yet but I thing she might be.

Food cravings: Nothing. My dad made this queso that was amazing, and I really wanted it all week but it's not really a craving. Sometimes I feel a little sad that I don't have cravings like most pregnant people.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. Thankfully I haven't ever felt very sick this pregnancy.
Have you started to show yet: For sure. I'm getting a definite bump!!
Gender: Girl. I can't wait to meet her!
Labor signs:Nothing yet. Hopefully a few months yet.
Bell button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Off. Makes me sad.
Happy or moody most of the time: Moody. Sometimes it's a little hard to be patient.
Looking forward to: Being more comfortable and not being dizzy.

30 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Cucumber
  • His skin is getting smoother.
  • But his brain is getting wrinklier — to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
  • He's now strong enough to grasp a finger!
Your 15.2- to 16.7-inch, 2.5- to 3.8-pound baby continues to grow.

29 Weeks

29 Weeks

How far along? 29 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Still at pre-pregnancy weight, which really surprised me. I really expected that it would go up a lot with thanksgiving being here.
Maternity clothes? Still just the same few. I really am reaching a point though that it's getting harder and harder to wear my normal clothes, I just hate paying for clothes that I'll only wear for a few months.
Stretch marks? Nope. Not new ones that I've noticed at least.
Sleep: Sleep is starting to get a little worse. I wake up at least once per night now to go to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Getting to enjoy spending thanksgiving with our families. Nothing better than good company and great food. It was so good to see everyone. Colton's cousin just had a new baby and getting to hold her was very sweet and made me more excited to meet this little one too.
Miss anything? Being able to comfortably bend over. Not being busy. I've started getting dizzy quite a bit actually while I'm at work.
Movement: Definitely getting more pressure in my ribs. I think she might be flipped head down at this point. I don't know for sure though, but I'm excited to see if my doctor says anything about it at my appointment next week.
Food cravings: Not really. I desperately wanted some apple juice the other day but that's pretty much it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No. This pregnancy has been pretty easy on me that way. Sometimes I still feel kind of sick after I eat but nothing too bad.
Have you started to show yet: For sure. People (like my mom) have started saying I definitely look pregnant. Though I have had a few people tell me that I look great for being due in February so I don't know what to think.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor signs: Nope. Nothing definite at this point. I'm really hoping for 11 more weeks before I have to think about or worry about that.
Bell button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Off. Still less swollen than I was at this point last pregnancy. I can get it on, it's just really tight and uncomfortable.
Happy or moody most of the time: Overall happy, but I definitely have my moody streaks. My temper and patience are shorter than usual. It doesn't help that my lower back is starting to hurt more and more.
Looking forward to: My 30 week appointment next week! Also Colton's last day of school is coming up soon too so he won't have to leave anymore during the week!

29 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Acorn Squash
  • He's getting a little cramped in there, since he's growing so fast. But you probably already realize that, since you're getting all those jabs and kicks.
  • He's growing white fat deposits under his skin, and his energy is surging because of it.
  • Feel a subtle twitch? It might be baby hiccupping.
Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, we weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but he's still got a ways to go — can you believe he'll triple in weight before birth?

28 Weeks- THIRD TRIMESTER!!

28 Weeks

I had to take the 3 hour glucose test this week. It sucked but I actually passed. So that was awesome. I am so relieved that I don't have to worry about having gestational diabetes or any complications from that. Also, this week is an important one, because this week I am officially in the 3rd trimester. That is craziness!! At this point only 12 weeks left until my due date!! Baby has a 95% chance of survival if she were born at this point. It's a good week. At some point here we probably should get going on our nursery too, but we'll get there.

How far along? 28 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Nothing, though I'm fully expecting that to change since next week is thanksgiving and that's when I gained the most during my pregnancy with Elli.
Maternity clothes? Some. I need to get some work pants. I can still wear mine, they just don't fit very comfortably when I sit down
Stretch marks? Not really
Sleep: I've actually been sleeping pretty good this week thankfully. I haven't felt the best because of that dumb glucose test but I've still been able to sleep okay.
Best moment this week:Passing the glucose test so I don't have to stress about having diabetes or any complications with that.
Miss anything? Not having numb spots on my hands and left leg
Movement: Some, she's not a super strong kicker or anything but there is enough movement to be happy.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, thanksgiving next week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, overall I feel pretty good.
Have you started to show yet: Only just a little
Gender: GIRL!
Labor signs:I had a ton of braxton hicks type things this week, I don't really know if they were braxton hicks, mostly I just think that my glucose test screwed up my body a little and gave me a pretty upset stomach for 3-4 days afterwards.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Off. I can still get it on fine, but it's really tight when I do
Happy or moody most of the time: Both, I'm stressed and busy and tired and that makes me more moody but overall I think I've been better.
Looking forward to: Thanksgiving is next week!!!! I'm going to eat so many mashed potatoes and gravy!

28 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Eggplant
  • She's starting to develop more fat, so her wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.
  • Her lungs are mature enough that she'd probably survive if she was born now. Wow!
Putting on layers of fat, your baby now weighs in around 1.5 to 2.5 pounds and measures about 13.6 to 14.8 inches.

27 weeks

27 weeks

Well, I failed my one hour glucose test. By a lot. That was super depressing. I am doing the three hour test today, but I'm hopeful that I'll pass it. I just will be really surprised if I have gestational diabetes. If I do I will do what I need too in order to make sure baby E is healthy, but it isn't going to be easy with the holidays here. Hopefully it won't matter though. I'm still going to enjoy thanksgiving either way because I've been way too excited about that to not.

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  no change yet, this is part of the reason I just really struggle to believe I have GD.
Maternity clothes?  getting more and more necessary. I can still wear my work pants but if i sit for too long I start to struggle breathing.
Stretch marks?  no new ones.
Sleep:  waking up at least once a night to go to the bathroom and feeling much less rested when I wake up. Colton says I'm tossing and turning a lot more.
Best moment this week: this week has been rough. I'm not really sure what the best part would be. Having food and spending time with my family I guess.  also, I just remembered, Elli has been so lovey with the baby lately. She is always asking to hug her and talking to her and it's adorable.
Miss anything? My right hand and left thigh not being numb and tingly all the time.
Movement: not as much as previously. I think her position must have changed quite a bit from where it was.
Food cravings: I made jalapeno poppers on Sunday and now that's all I want!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  I've actually been feeling pretty good overall this week. Other than that one hour glucose test. That made me wish I was dead.
Have you started to show yet: I'm hoping people can tell I'm pregnant and don't just think I'm getting a huge gut, but I definitely have a bump happening.
Gender: pink.
Labor signs: nothing yet. I'm really hoping to be pregnant for 13 more weeks without worrying about it.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Sadly off. I now can't even get it fully into my finger.
Happy or moody most of the time: I'm more tired this week, which makes me more moody, but overall I'm generally happy.
Looking forward to:  Thanksgiving! I can't even tell you how excited I am for tasty food. I gained the most weight with Elli over the week of thanksgiving so I guess we'll see if that repeats itself.

27 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Rutabaga
  • She's practicing inhaling and exhaling with her rapidly developing lungs.
  • It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And her brain will keep on getting more complex.
At 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 1.5 to 2.5 pounds, she's not just getting bigger, she's getting smarter.

26 weeks

26 weeks

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  at my doctor's appointment this week I weighed the exact same as I did before getting pregnant.
Maternity clothes? I have one pair of pants now I wear but I still am wearing my normal dress pants to work and rocking the ponytail and belly band occasionally.
Stretch marks? Nope. Thankfully still not any new ones
Sleep:  sleep has been a little rougher this week. I've started waking up at least once a night to go to the bathroom
Best moment this week:  getting a prenatal massage and seeing a movie with Colton.
Miss anything? Not feeling sick every time I eat. no matter how hungry I am I always feel a million times worse after I eat. It's driVing me crazy!
Movement: I'm not sure if it's how she's positioned or what, but I've been feeling a lot less this week. And what I feel is really low. It's weird to me because Elli was always pushing herself out into my ribs, this girl just kicks down into my pelvis or right around my belly button.
Food cravings:  nope. Maybe if I actually could easy without feeling like crap then I would have cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick: just eating food. It doesn't seem to matter what it is. It all makes me feel gross.
Have you started to show yet:  definitely! I wish I could just have a pregnant belly all the time.
Gender: little girl E! Are you curious yet eBay her name is going to be?
Labor signs: nope. I'm hoping for nothing for at least 13 more weeks.
Bell button in or out?  in
Wedding rings on or off?  this week I sadly finally reached the point that it doesn't fit. I can still wear it, but is really uncomfortable.
Happy or moody most of the time: still happy but short tempered. I don't remember having this little patience the last time I was pregnant.
Looking forward to:  Thanksgiving! I also have my glucose test this week so I'm expired to get that out of the way.

26 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Head Of Lettuce
  • Her eyes are forming, and her eyes will soon start to open.
  • And her eyelashes are now grown, too.
  • She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
  • She's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.
She's still growing in the 13.6- to 14.8-inch and 1.5- to 2.5-pound range, and developing her senses, features and talents!

25 Weeks

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  Possibly gained a pounds or two but completely sure on that. I have a doctor's appointment next week that can give me a better idea
Maternity clothes? I bought one pair of maternity pants because I got tired of only having one pair of pants I could actually wear.
Stretch marks?  not really
Sleep: I've been sleeping pretty good the last week, I'm still tired no matter how much I sleep, but I sleep pretty good.
Best moment this week:  going trick or treating with Elli. She had so much fun and absolutely loved it.
Miss anything?  right now nothing in particular. I generally feel pretty good.
Movement: I actually had a few hard kicks this week where I could feel her from the outside, so that was really exciting.
Food cravings: nothing this week. Some times I feel lame that I don't have normal pregnant lady cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick:   I've started feeling a little sick when I eat actually which has been a little rough.
Have you started to show yet: definitely getting a bump. Which I totally love!
Gender:  baby girl! And don't worry, I'll announce her name soon.
Labor signs: nothing. Not even any Braxton hicks, at least that I've noticed.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On still, but it's starting to get tighter. I think my days of wearing it are short lived.
Happy or moody most of the time:  happy, but more short tempered than I usually am.
Looking forward to:  appointment next week, getting to the third trimester, the holidays.

25 Weeks
Your Baby is as Big as a Cauliflower
  • She's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium — she now knows which way is up and which is down.
  • She's growing more fat and more hair too!
During month six, the average fetus measures about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.

24 Weeks

24 Weeks

Today is a special week. It's kind of a terrifying thought, but this week I am officially to the age of viability. That means that if for some reason baby E had to come right now, she would have a 50-70% chance of survival. Which is both amazing and terrifying. I really hope we have another 16 weeks before she comes. I know it's weird, but I'm actually really hoping to make it right around my due date and not actually go early. Of course now that I think that she'll probably come at 37 weeks or something. Just because my kids are convinced they need to show me how little control I actually have over anything.
How far along? 24 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think I've gained a pound or two, I'm still not really sure.
Maternity clothes? I've been looking more and more this week to find some, but I'm kind of picky in what I want and so I still haven't found anything.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Getting rougher. I have started waking up a little more to go to the bathroom and Elli has slept really bad this week because she had a cold.
Best moment this week: Reaching the age of viability
Miss anything? Being able to eat food without feeling gross
Movement: She's not a super active little girl most days, but she's definitely getting stronger.
Food cravings: This week I really wanted kalua pork. But then I had some and it wasn't really what I wanted. Welcome to pregnancy huh?
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating. I really really hate food lately. I'll feel really hungry but every time I eat I just feel so crappy afterwards. It's exhausting.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, I have a definitely bump.
Gender: Girl. It's so much fun. I am about 95% sure of the name we have picked out for her too and it's just the best.
Labor signs: Definitely nothing yet and I'd like to keep it that was for a few more months at least.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Still on, but wearing it is getting harder and harder. It's getting much tighter and I'm pretty sure my days of wearing it are numbered.
Happy or moody most of the time: This week I have been very moody. Elli hasn't sleep very good because she had a cold and so I've been really tired. That combined with Colton being gone has been really rough. Luckily, he only has 6 weeks left before he moves down to Cedar for good.
Looking forward to: Getting to see Elli with her baby sister. She's already so adorable and will hug my belly all the time and say over and over again, "I love my baby", I can't wait until they can be together and grow up together.

24 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Cantaloupe
  • Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.
  • And it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.
Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week she gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.

25 Weeks
Your Baby is as Big as a Cauliflower
  • She's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium — she now knows which way is up and which is down.
  • She's growing more fat and more hair too!

23 Weeks

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: It's hard for me to say for sure because I got a new scale and so I'm not sure where my starting weight was, somewhere between my pre-pregnancy weight and having gained 2-3 pounds I think though.
Maternity clothes? No, but I really need to invest in some soon.
Stretch marks? Not any new ones.
Sleep: Terrible. I wake up all night long and really struggle to go back to sleep. I guess I'm just getting ready
Best moment this week: We went to fetal fotos and took some 3D pictures. We got to see that she is definitely a girl. I'm so excited to know for sure, and our 3D pictures made me so incredibly excited to finally meet her because she is absolutely adorable. And I think going to be so snuggly. She spent the first twenty minutes snuggled up against my placenta so we couldn't get a picture very easily. It also took a very long time to be able to get a picture to confirm that she was a girl. Apparently she is much more shy in that area than Elli was by far.
Miss anything? Right now not so much. Things are going really good.
Movement: She's starting to get much stronger in her movements. She's not really super active most days, but her kicks are getting harder.
Food cravings: I have been craving Zupas basically my whole pregnancy and this week we went and got some and it was delicious. So that was good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really this week, I've been feeling pretty good.
Have you started to show yet: More and more. I definitely am starting to look pregnant now.
Gender: Definitely a girl. It was so nice to have another ultrasound to confirm because I was a little worried after our anatomy ultrasound was not completely confident. But today there was little doubt of her anatomy.
Labor signs: Nothing yet, thankfully.
Bell button in or out? In, and there it had better stay. Luckily it's still super deep.
Wedding rings on or off? On for now at least
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy overall. I get tired and then short tempered some but overall I feel pretty good.
Looking forward to:  Colton getting to feel baby E kicking as well

23 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Grapefruit
  • She's forming little nipples (yeah, really!)
  • Her face is fully formed now — she just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • She's listening to your voice and your heartbeat — and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, she's getting even cuter.

22 Weeks

22 Weeks

How far along?22 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Last time I weighed myself it was the same as my prepregnancy, but I haven't weighed myself for a week or so.
Maternity clothes? Breaking out the belly bands more. I need to get some pants but I'm fairly picky about what I want and I haven't been able to find them yet.
Stretch marks? Maybe a few new ones.
Sleep: Not great. I've had a cold and felt pretty crappy, and for some reason my body thinks 3 am is time to wake up.
Best moment this week: Going on vacation up to Midway and finding out that I get 12 weeks of paid maternity leave
Miss anything? Being able to comfortably take medications when I'm sick.
Movement: Some harder kicks this week. She's definitely got a personality going in there.
Food cravings: Still just want Zupas.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just the idea of Olive Garden.
Have you started to show yet: Definitely. My coworkers finally know, so that's fun.
Gender: Girl. I'm feeling a little unsure about whether or not it is, so I'm excited to have it confirmed this week.
Labor signs: Nothing. Thankfully. I'm really hoping to go really close to my due date. I know I'm crazy but I just really don't want to go earlier.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On, but starting to get a lot tighter.
Happy or moody most of the time: happy, but I get a little short tempered occasionally, especially when I'm tired.
Looking forward to: We are going to fetal fotos this week to get some 3D ultrasounds and reconfirm that the baby really is a girl since they had a hard time telling at the anatomy ultrasound. Thanks curled up baby and cord all in the way....

22 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Papaya
  • Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
  • He's sleeping in cycles — about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).
During month five, the average fetus measures about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces

21 Weeks

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:Still at my prepregnancy weight
Maternity clothes? Not yet but I really need to start getting some
Stretch marks? Not any new ones that I'm aware
Sleep: A few times this week my body has decided that 3 am is time to wake up, and then refuses to go back to sleep for a few hours. It kills me a little bit. It's hard to be so tired all the time.
Best moment this week: Tie between our anatomy ultrasound and seeing how adorable our little baby was and finding out that everything is developing normally, and having our gender reveal party and finding out what we are having.
Miss anything? Nothing really so far
Movement: Less this week which made me a little nervous, but then I found out at our ultrasound that I have an anterior placenta, so I may not feel her as much. She was also facing my back during the ultrasound so I just might not be feeling it as much
Food cravings: Zupas
Anything making you queasy or sick: the thought of eating Olive Garden. Not even anything specific there, just the restaurant in general
Have you started to show yet: Definitely starting to.
Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!
Labor signs: Nothing, no cramps or braxton hicks or anything
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Getting happier all the time
Looking forward to: Having a week off and going on vacation with my family.

21 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Pomegranate
  • As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she's manufacturing meconium — the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!
  • If it's a girl, she's already got a lifetime's supply of eggs in her womb — about six million of them!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, she's big enough now that you've probably been feeling her movements.

Gender Reveal

We had a gender reveal party with all our family this week. I didn't know the gender beforehand. Colton looked to make sure the cake was made right, but it was really fun. I had been sure it was a girl but then right before the party changed my mind and guessed that it was a boy. I wasn't in the minority though. We had lots of guesses for a boy.

I must say though. The gender myths or old wives tales that I looked at really weren't very helpful.

AND.................................

Baby Savage #2 will be.......................

So excited to meet our little girl!!!

Her name will be....

Baby girl Claire Savage (haha, we still haven't decided on a first name yet but her middle name will be Claire.)
