10 weeks, 1/4 of the way through

10 weeks

How far along? 10 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Still sitting right around my prepregnancy weight.
Maternity clothes? A few dresses, but mostly I just stick to wearing the few pairs of pants I have that actually fit. I really should just go buy a few pairs.
Stretch marks? No new ones.
Sleep: I sleep great, but it just feels like I never get enough anymore. I'm always exhausted. I used to be a morning person, but lately I just cannot get moving in the mornings no matter what I do.
Best moment this week: we had our first ultrasound/appointment. Everything looked perfect. Baby was measuring right on track and had a strong heart beat that was the first thing I saw on the machine. It was impossible to miss and was at 174 bpm. The doctor let us listen for a bit and it was beautiful. I'm still a little scared to get really excited, but seeing things looking so good a full week passed the point that baby stopped growing last time is encouraging to me.
Miss anything? Eating raw cookie dough. My super comfy bed.
Movement: I've had a few bubbles that maybe could have been movement, but probably aren't.
Food cravings: This week I haven't really had any cravings that I can think of.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I've started getting a little more sick in the evenings, I think mostly just on days that I haven't eaten or had enough to drink in the mornings.
Have you started to show yet: I think I am some. Not enough that anyone would assume I'm pregnant though.
Gender: I want to know so bad!!! I feel like I bond so much more with the baby once I know and have a name picked out!
Labor signs: Nope. Hopefully I have about 29 weeks before that happens.
Bell button in or out? IN!
Wedding rings on or off? On still.
Happy or moody most of the time: More moody than I probably should be. I just have a very short temper because I'm so exhausted all the time.
Looking forward to: We are buying a house so I'm looking forward to that going through and planning our nursery. I'm also looking forward to our next appointment in August in 3 weeks so I can finally feel like we are safe and then we can plan an announcement. That's the hardest part of a pregnancy after the kind of miscarriage that I had, because I don't trust anything anymore. Like I saw a strong obvious heartbeat this week and I just can't trust that that means things are good now since we saw a heart beat last time. I'm just really looking forward to seeing a heartbeat (or hearing one) at the point that we are farther along than the day I found out with the last baby.

  • Baby has working arm joints, and her cartilage and bones are forming.
  • Her vital organs are fully developed and they're starting to function.
  • Her fingernails and hair are starting to appear, too.
  • Plus, she's swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)
Now, she's about 1.2 inches long and weighs about .14 ounces. Her body length will almost double in the next three weeks.

9 weeks

9 weeks

How far along? 9 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: still sitting at my prepregnancy weight so far.
Maternity clothes? I just keep wearing the same two pairs of pants that actually fit. I need to go get some so I can stop doing so much laundry.
Stretch marks? No new ones
Sleep: I still sleep great. I just wish my energy levels reflected it because I'm always exhausted.
Best moment this week: got pre-approved and put an offer down on a house. I'm starting to dream about nursery plans now!
Miss anything? Having energy and patience
Movement: I seriously can't wait! I know people who feel their second baby around eleven weeks so I'm hopefully it will be sooner this go around.
Food cravings: nothing so far
Anything making you queasy or sick: not eating. I've really started having way more food aversion this week where the thought of eating certain foods just gives me waves of nausea. I'm no where near as sick as I was in my last two pregnancies still though which is nice. I've started taking a little bit of diclegis now but not a full dose.
Have you started to show yet: some, how much depends on what I wear that day.
Gender: this week Elli has started telling me that it's a baby brother (and asking to see the baby while pulling down my shirt). So I guess we'll see what happens.
Labor signs: no.
Bell button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: moody. I cry more than any pregnancy previous and I'm so exhausted that my patience is almost non existent.
Looking forward to: I think I'm going to announce soon as long as our appointment today goes good. Or at least take pictures for our announcement. I'm also excited for our appointment today if kinda nervous.

  • This is a milestone. She's no longer an embryo — now she's a fetus!
  • She's developing more distinct facial features.
  • And she might now have a strong enough heartbeat to be picked up by a fetal doppler.
She's gaining steam! At 9 weeks, your fetus measures around .9 inches and weighs about .07 ounces.

8 Week

8 Weeks:

How far along? 8 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think I have stayed the same basic weight.
Maternity clothes? I'm not wearing them, but I would be more comfortable in them I think. My pants just seem way tight already.
Stretch marks? Not new ones.
Sleep: I continue to sleep fine but am still always exhausted.
Best moment this week: I got my pharmacist license and get to start working for real and are one step closer to a house.
Miss anything? Not having to be really stressed about whether or not things are going okay and if baby is still doing good in there. I can't wait until I can start feeling movement because I think that't going to be the best way for me to start feeling more secure in this pregnancy.
Movement: Not yet. I can't wait!! I really hope it happens soon!
Food cravings: none
Anything making you queasy or sick: the thought of eating eggs, but really I haven't been all that sick yet. I got a little overheated/dehydrated at the parade and felt pretty crummy all day after but other than that it's been good.
Have you started to show yet: Not really, I just already had some pudge to start out with so I already looked pregnant.
Gender: I keep going back and forth on what I think it is. I really just don't have a strong feeling one way or another. If it's a girl though she's not going to have a name because I can't decide on anything.
Labor signs: Hopefully none for a good 31 weeks or so.
Bell button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: This has been a very rough week. I ended up getting hand foot and mouth and was really stressed about how that was going to affect the pregnancy, luckily I only had a fever for about 12 hours, which is the scariest part of HFM during pregnancy, but because I haven't felt very good I have been really moody and grumpy so it's not very good. Luckily it's been getting better and better each day, but it still hasn't been the easiest week.
Looking forward to: Just one more week until my first prenatal appointment with ultrasounds so we can at least have a starting point of seeing things be okay with this pregnancy.

You can't see the baby in the picture, even when it's a clear picture, but it shows the tracing of the heartbeat nice and strong.

Your Baby is as Big as a Raspberry
  • You can't feel it yet, but she's moving those arms and legs like crazy!
  • Her fingers and toes are now only slightly webbed, and her tail (yes, she had one) is gone.
  • Fun fact: your baby's taste buds are now forming.
Now she weighs in (yay!) at about .04 ounces and measures about .63 inches. This week, she's growing about a milimeter each day.

7 Weeks

7 Weeks:

How far along? 7 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I honestly don't even know right now. I think I'm still the same as I was but it is just fluctuating like crazy. If I work out then I weight like 3 pounds more the next day and then it goes back down the next day so, your guess is as good as mine.
Maternity clothes? Not yet.
Stretch marks? Unknown if there are any new
Sleep: Same, sleeping okay, but struggling to fall asleep and feel exhausted no matter how much sleep I actually get.
Best moment this week: Finding out that I passed the MPJE and so I don't have to study anymore!!!
Miss anything? Not being tired, not being stressed all the time that something is going to happen to this baby, but not really anything else.
Movement: Still too early by far. I can't wait until I start feeling it though.
Food cravings: Eh, nothing really.
Anything making you queasy or sick: eggs, they sound good but when I eat them it literally makes me gag to even try and swallow the yokes. Occasionally if I go a long time without eating I start to not feel the best, but really I haven't had any sickness this time around.
Have you started to show yet: Not yet. I already look a little pregnant, but it hasn't really changed a ton from what it was.
Gender: I was convinced going in that this was going to be a girl, but more and more I've been leaning towards this baby being a boy. It will be interesting to find out. I don't really feel super strongly either way.
Labor signs: Nothing yet. I honestly don't really feel pregnant at all.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Off but only because it's so stinking hot right now that it's unbearable. I can't even imagine being 6 months pregnant right now like I would have been.
Happy or moody most of the time: A little of both, I have less patience than usual, but now that my tests are out of the way it's been a little better, except that we started potty training at the same time so that makes me stressed too. I'm trying to be happy and positive though.
Looking forward to: Having our first appointment, feeling movements, getting a house of our own and starting getting a second room ready for a baby. Finding out the gender.

Your Baby is as Big as a Blueberry (the website I took these from puts in the gender.)
  • She's generating about one hundred new brain cells each minute!
  • Not only is her brain becoming more complex, but her heart is too.
  • Also important: She's developing a permanent set of kidneys
  • Her arm and leg joints are now forming.
Your .51-inch embryo doesn't exactly tip the scales just yet but she's developing like crazy. She's already doubled in size since last week.
