27 weeks

27 weeks

Well, I failed my one hour glucose test. By a lot. That was super depressing. I am doing the three hour test today, but I'm hopeful that I'll pass it. I just will be really surprised if I have gestational diabetes. If I do I will do what I need too in order to make sure baby E is healthy, but it isn't going to be easy with the holidays here. Hopefully it won't matter though. I'm still going to enjoy thanksgiving either way because I've been way too excited about that to not.

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  no change yet, this is part of the reason I just really struggle to believe I have GD.
Maternity clothes?  getting more and more necessary. I can still wear my work pants but if i sit for too long I start to struggle breathing.
Stretch marks?  no new ones.
Sleep:  waking up at least once a night to go to the bathroom and feeling much less rested when I wake up. Colton says I'm tossing and turning a lot more.
Best moment this week: this week has been rough. I'm not really sure what the best part would be. Having food and spending time with my family I guess.  also, I just remembered, Elli has been so lovey with the baby lately. She is always asking to hug her and talking to her and it's adorable.
Miss anything? My right hand and left thigh not being numb and tingly all the time.
Movement: not as much as previously. I think her position must have changed quite a bit from where it was.
Food cravings: I made jalapeno poppers on Sunday and now that's all I want!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  I've actually been feeling pretty good overall this week. Other than that one hour glucose test. That made me wish I was dead.
Have you started to show yet: I'm hoping people can tell I'm pregnant and don't just think I'm getting a huge gut, but I definitely have a bump happening.
Gender: pink.
Labor signs: nothing yet. I'm really hoping to be pregnant for 13 more weeks without worrying about it.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Sadly off. I now can't even get it fully into my finger.
Happy or moody most of the time: I'm more tired this week, which makes me more moody, but overall I'm generally happy.
Looking forward to:  Thanksgiving! I can't even tell you how excited I am for tasty food. I gained the most weight with Elli over the week of thanksgiving so I guess we'll see if that repeats itself.

27 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Rutabaga
  • She's practicing inhaling and exhaling with her rapidly developing lungs.
  • It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And her brain will keep on getting more complex.
At 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 1.5 to 2.5 pounds, she's not just getting bigger, she's getting smarter.

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  at my doctor's appointment this week I weighed the exact same as I did before getting pregnant.
Maternity clothes? I have one pair of pants now I wear but I still am wearing my normal dress pants to work and rocking the ponytail and belly band occasionally.
Stretch marks? Nope. Thankfully still not any new ones
Sleep:  sleep has been a little rougher this week. I've started waking up at least once a night to go to the bathroom
Best moment this week:  getting a prenatal massage and seeing a movie with Colton.
Miss anything? Not feeling sick every time I eat. no matter how hungry I am I always feel a million times worse after I eat. It's driVing me crazy!
Movement: I'm not sure if it's how she's positioned or what, but I've been feeling a lot less this week. And what I feel is really low. It's weird to me because Elli was always pushing herself out into my ribs, this girl just kicks down into my pelvis or right around my belly button.
Food cravings:  nope. Maybe if I actually could easy without feeling like crap then I would have cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick: just eating food. It doesn't seem to matter what it is. It all makes me feel gross.
Have you started to show yet:  definitely! I wish I could just have a pregnant belly all the time.
Gender: little girl E! Are you curious yet eBay her name is going to be?
Labor signs: nope. I'm hoping for nothing for at least 13 more weeks.
Bell button in or out?  in
Wedding rings on or off?  this week I sadly finally reached the point that it doesn't fit. I can still wear it, but is really uncomfortable.
Happy or moody most of the time: still happy but short tempered. I don't remember having this little patience the last time I was pregnant.
Looking forward to:  Thanksgiving! I also have my glucose test this week so I'm expired to get that out of the way.

26 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Head Of Lettuce
  • Her eyes are forming, and her eyes will soon start to open.
  • And her eyelashes are now grown, too.
  • She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
  • She's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.
She's still growing in the 13.6- to 14.8-inch and 1.5- to 2.5-pound range, and developing her senses, features and talents!

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  Possibly gained a pounds or two but completely sure on that. I have a doctor's appointment next week that can give me a better idea
Maternity clothes? I bought one pair of maternity pants because I got tired of only having one pair of pants I could actually wear.
Stretch marks?  not really
Sleep: I've been sleeping pretty good the last week, I'm still tired no matter how much I sleep, but I sleep pretty good.
Best moment this week:  going trick or treating with Elli. She had so much fun and absolutely loved it.
Miss anything?  right now nothing in particular. I generally feel pretty good.
Movement: I actually had a few hard kicks this week where I could feel her from the outside, so that was really exciting.
Food cravings: nothing this week. Some times I feel lame that I don't have normal pregnant lady cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick:   I've started feeling a little sick when I eat actually which has been a little rough.
Have you started to show yet: definitely getting a bump. Which I totally love!
Gender:  baby girl! And don't worry, I'll announce her name soon.
Labor signs: nothing. Not even any Braxton hicks, at least that I've noticed.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On still, but it's starting to get tighter. I think my days of wearing it are short lived.
Happy or moody most of the time:  happy, but more short tempered than I usually am.
Looking forward to:  appointment next week, getting to the third trimester, the holidays.

25 Weeks
Your Baby is as Big as a Cauliflower

  • She's growing more fat and more hair too!
During month six, the average fetus measures about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.

24 Weeks

24 Weeks

Today is a special week. It's kind of a terrifying thought, but this week I am officially to the age of viability. That means that if for some reason baby E had to come right now, she would have a 50-70% chance of survival. Which is both amazing and terrifying. I really hope we have another 16 weeks before she comes. I know it's weird, but I'm actually really hoping to make it right around my due date and not actually go early. Of course now that I think that she'll probably come at 37 weeks or something. Just because my kids are convinced they need to show me how little control I actually have over anything.
How far along? 24 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I think I've gained a pound or two, I'm still not really sure.
Maternity clothes? I've been looking more and more this week to find some, but I'm kind of picky in what I want and so I still haven't found anything.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Getting rougher. I have started waking up a little more to go to the bathroom and Elli has slept really bad this week because she had a cold.
Best moment this week: Reaching the age of viability
Miss anything? Being able to eat food without feeling gross
Movement: She's not a super active little girl most days, but she's definitely getting stronger.
Food cravings: This week I really wanted kalua pork. But then I had some and it wasn't really what I wanted. Welcome to pregnancy huh?
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating. I really really hate food lately. I'll feel really hungry but every time I eat I just feel so crappy afterwards. It's exhausting.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, I have a definitely bump.
Gender: Girl. It's so much fun. I am about 95% sure of the name we have picked out for her too and it's just the best.
Labor signs: Definitely nothing yet and I'd like to keep it that was for a few more months at least.
Bell button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Still on, but wearing it is getting harder and harder. It's getting much tighter and I'm pretty sure my days of wearing it are numbered.
Happy or moody most of the time: This week I have been very moody. Elli hasn't sleep very good because she had a cold and so I've been really tired. That combined with Colton being gone has been really rough. Luckily, he only has 6 weeks left before he moves down to Cedar for good.
Looking forward to: Getting to see Elli with her baby sister. She's already so adorable and will hug my belly all the time and say over and over again, "I love my baby", I can't wait until they can be together and grow up together.

24 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Cantaloupe
  • Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.
  • And it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.
Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week she gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: It's hard for me to say for sure because I got a new scale and so I'm not sure where my starting weight was, somewhere between my pre-pregnancy weight and having gained 2-3 pounds I think though.
Maternity clothes? No, but I really need to invest in some soon.
Stretch marks? Not any new ones.
Sleep: Terrible. I wake up all night long and really struggle to go back to sleep. I guess I'm just getting ready
Best moment this week: We went to fetal fotos and took some 3D pictures. We got to see that she is definitely a girl. I'm so excited to know for sure, and our 3D pictures made me so incredibly excited to finally meet her because she is absolutely adorable. And I think going to be so snuggly. She spent the first twenty minutes snuggled up against my placenta so we couldn't get a picture very easily. It also took a very long time to be able to get a picture to confirm that she was a girl. Apparently she is much more shy in that area than Elli was by far.
Miss anything? Right now not so much. Things are going really good.
Movement: She's starting to get much stronger in her movements. She's not really super active most days, but her kicks are getting harder.
Food cravings: I have been craving Zupas basically my whole pregnancy and this week we went and got some and it was delicious. So that was good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really this week, I've been feeling pretty good.
Have you started to show yet: More and more. I definitely am starting to look pregnant now.
Gender: Definitely a girl. It was so nice to have another ultrasound to confirm because I was a little worried after our anatomy ultrasound was not completely confident. But today there was little doubt of her anatomy.
Labor signs: Nothing yet, thankfully.
Bell button in or out? In, and there it had better stay. Luckily it's still super deep.
Wedding rings on or off? On for now at least
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy overall. I get tired and then short tempered some but overall I feel pretty good.
Looking forward to:  Colton getting to feel baby E kicking as well

23 Weeks:
Your Baby is as Big as a Grapefruit
  • She's forming little nipples (yeah, really!)
  • Her face is fully formed now — she just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • She's listening to your voice and your heartbeat — and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, she's getting even cuter.
